Privacy Policy
Your ticket stays on your phone.
Citeless is built so that we never see your parking ticket, your photos, your letter or your name. This page explains what the app keeps on your device, the few things that leave it and why, and what we don't collect at all.
The short version
- Ticket photos, evidence, your answers and your dispute letters are stored only on your iPhone.
- The letter is drafted on the device. Nothing is sent to us or to any AI service.
- There is no account. We don't collect your email, name, address or location.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
- We don't use advertising or tracking SDKs, and we don't sell or share data.
What the app stores on your device
- Ticket details you scanned or typed: citation number, dates, location, plate, vehicle, violation, deadline.
- Photos of the ticket and your evidence, saved inside the app's own storage. The ticket photo itself is only used to read the text and is not kept after the scan.
- Your answers to the questionnaire and the letter drafted from them, including any edits you make.
- Your signature details, if you enter them: name, mailing address, phone and email, which go at the bottom of the letter because San Marcos and UT Austin require them in a written dispute. They are stored only on the device.
- Your dispute credits (how many you have bought and used).
Deleting a ticket in the app deletes its photos and letter. Deleting the app deletes everything except the credit count described below.
What leaves your device
- The dispute you send. When you tap send, the letter and attachments open in your own Mail app, or you copy them into the issuer's web form. They go from you to the issuer. Citeless does not transmit them, see them or keep a copy of what you sent.
- Purchases. Dispute credits are bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment under its own privacy policy and tells the app only that a purchase succeeded.
- Credit count via iCloud. The number of unused credits is mirrored into your iCloud key-value storage so a new iPhone keeps what you paid for. That storage belongs to your Apple account; we have no access to it and it contains no ticket information.
- Reminders. Deadline reminders are local notifications scheduled on the device. No push server is involved.
On-device intelligence
On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Citeless uses Apple's on-device language model to polish the wording of your letter. The model runs on the phone; your ticket facts and draft are not sent anywhere. On other iPhones the letter is built from the same templates without the model. In both cases the app checks the result before you see it and uses the template version if the model's draft adds anything you didn't tell it.
Permissions
- Camera, to photograph the ticket and your evidence, only when you tap the button.
- Photos, through the system picker, which shows the app only the images you choose.
- Notifications, for deadline reminders. You can decline and still use everything else.
Analytics
The app currently sends no analytics at all. If we add anonymous usage counts in a future version (for example how many people reach the preview step), they will contain no ticket details, no identifiers and no location, the App Store privacy label will be updated first, and this page will say so.
This website
citeless.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics. If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you give us, the time, and which form you used, in order to email you when the app is available. We don't share the list and you can ask us to remove you at any time. Type is loaded from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when your browser requests the font files.
Children
Citeless is for drivers and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
